A Romantic Seaside Wedding in Fowey

Join us as we celebrate the beautiful wedding of Carol and Adam, who tied the knot in a picture-perfect ceremony at Fowey Harbour Hotel in Cornwall. With the sparkling sea as their backdrop and family gathered for a weekend of love and laughter, their day was filled with meaning, joy and timeless elegance. Carol looked stunning in the Opal Silk Gown, an effortlessly graceful choice that perfectly reflected her understated style.

1. Where did you meet?
We met in June 2020, between lockdowns, on a dating app. Our first meeting was on 1st June 2020 at a beautiful nature reserve, a simple but really special beginning.
2. Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue?
We got married at Fowey Harbour Hotel in Cornwall, and it was honestly the most beautiful day. We had 50 guests and everyone stayed for the weekend, which made it feel extra special. Adam proposed in Cornwall, and we’ve had lots of lovely holidays there with our grown-up children (we’re a blended family), so it really felt like the perfect place for us.

3. Tell us about the dress!
I tried on a wide range of dresses at a boutique, but everything felt a bit too fussy or over the top. Then I came across this dress and ordered it on a whim and the second I tried it on, I knew. It was just right: classy, understated with a soft lace bodice and a belt that added the perfect touch of sparkle. The length was spot on too, I’m quite tall, and it just kissed the floor. It felt so comfortable and so me.

4. What advice would you have for other brides planning a wedding?
We’ve both been married before and had big weddings that were more about what our families wanted. This time, we wanted something that truly reflected us. My advice to other brides would be: plan the day YOU want. Choose the people, the place and the moments that make YOU happy, not what’s expected of you.
5. Any other Fun Facts!
We had a very special (and slightly unusual!) guest at the wedding… a furry wooden Highland cow that was a childhood toy of mine. It had been in a box destined for the tip, but Adam decided it needed saving. It’s now a little mascot and lives in the front of our camper van, travelling everywhere with us. On the wedding day, it joined us on the top table, and even made an appearance during the cake cutting!

Carol and Adam’s celebration was the perfect mix of love, laughter and personal touches, a true reflection of who they are. Carol’s choice of the Opal Silk Gown captured her elegant, understated style beautifully, proving that simplicity really is the ultimate sophistication.
